ISDE Presidential Biography - Enrique Moreno-Gonzalez - ISDE president 1995-1998

Dr. Enrique Moreno-Gonzalez, the 5th President of the ISDE, is well-known for his wide experience in general and digestive surgery with particular expertise in complex upper gastrointestinal procedures. He was one of the pioneers of esophageal surgery in Spain and one of the first leaders of liver and multivisceral transplantation in the 1980's.

For a long time he served in various ISDE committees as well as in the Editorial Board of Diseases of the Esophagus and was president of the ISDE from 1995-1998. During his presidency, he introduced a number of new initiatives and hosted the 9th ISDE World Congress in Madrid in 2004.
